Get answers to common questions about Lip Filler.
Lip Filler is generally safe when administered by experienced providers using hyaluronic acid products like Juvederm. Possible side effects include temporary swelling, bruising, redness, asymmetry, or rare infection. A consultation reviews risks, medical history, and ways to minimize complications.
Most patients experience Lip Filler results for approximately 6 to 12 months, depending on product choice, metabolism, and treatment amount. Touch-ups prolong results, and your provider will recommend a maintenance schedule based on how your body responds.
Discomfort is usually minimal. We use topical numbing and many Juvederm formulas include lidocaine to reduce pain. Providers inject slowly with gentle technique, and ice or calming measures further minimize sensation for a comfortable experience.
Avoid blood thinners, certain supplements, alcohol, and intense exercise for several days if appropriate. Arrive with clean skin. During consultation we’ll review medications and health history to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.
Expect mild swelling and possible bruising. Apply ice, avoid strenuous activity, excessive heat, and alcohol for 24–48 hours. Do not massage the area unless instructed. Follow-up visits allow assessment and any necessary touch-ups.
Good candidates are in overall good health seeking subtle volume or contouring. A consultation determines suitability, screens for contraindications, and aligns expectations. Pregnant, breastfeeding, or actively infected patients are usually advised to wait.
